Mixtape Fridays
What’s good everyone, happy Friday to you all. It still seems a bit strange to me, but the summer is quickly slipping away and today marks the beginning of my last full weekend in Philadelphia. This summer has been pretty wild, but it’s not finished just yet. I’ve already begun mental preparations for the insanity of Wednesday’s HARD Philly, headlined by Crystal Castles and Rusko. It should be a great finishing touch on the summer of 2010. The HARD tour will hit up Montreal right before the show here, so if you’re in the 514 on Sunday, you know where you should be that night.
Our first mixtape this week is from Edinburgh’s Nom De Strip. This is the first time I’ve heard this guy’s work, and his Summer Mix sure makes one hell of a first impression. I’ll be keeping an eye out for this guy in the future for sure, check it out.
Next up we have a recording of a performance that I sincerely wish I could have seen live. This Luvstep mixtape is from the Mad Decent Block Party which was held in Philly two weeks ago. Unfortunately, I was out of town that weekend and couldn’t attend the festivities, but this mixtape at least gives me a taste of what I missed out on.
