Mixtape Fridays
Happy Friday to all, hoping this post finds you well. It’s hard not to be in a good mood around here lately, life in this city takes on a more relaxed tone in the summertime and the beautiful weather makes all of life’s problems seem just a little less important. As we mentioned a few days ago, we’ll be heading back down to the beautiful Parc Jean-Drapeau on Sunday to catch Flosstradamus, Mary Hell and friends at the second installment of Picnik Electronik. We’ll also be taking some pictures of the crowd, the DJs and of course the amazing scenery on the island. Hope to see you all there.
Our first mixtape this week comes from Felix Cartal. Felix is fresh off of his Popular Music LP that dropped back in January, and this mixtape will keep his name in the headlines. In an era where songs have a general shelf life of roughly a month (if that), Cartal has managed to keep his name prominent in the DJ world for several years now; that’s definitely a testament to his skill as a producer. Without further ado here’s his summer mixtape, enjoy.

Next up is the Dance on Glass Mixtape from Breakbot, who’s quickly becoming one of my favorite producers to watch. On this mixtape Breakbot carries on the proud tradition of Ed Banger records, fusing funky basslines, catchy synths and old-school disco grooves.
