Maps & Atlases and Frightened Rabbit come to Petit Campus (tonight!)

Posted 03 May 2010 in Music

Tonight, Petit Campus will play host to Maps & Atlases and Frightened Rabbit. Chicago-based Maps & Atlases first emerged on the music scene in 2006 with the release of their debut EP, Tree, Swallows, Houses. Their musical stylings can be described as art rock, or potentially progressive rock. Their long-awaited first full length, Perch Patchwork, comes out on June 29, 2010. I recently heard a track from it, “Solid Ground”, and if it’s indicative of the quality of the album, then there’s a lot to look forward to. The second act, Frightened Rabbit, is a five-piece indie rock outfit from Scotland. They received a large amount of attention for their 2008 album, The Midnight Organ Fight. Since then, they released their third album, The Winter Of Mixed Drinks, to even more critical acclaim. They’re supposed to be a really impressive live act, so I’m very excited to see them.

If you haven’t heard of these two bands, you really should have a listen. Also, Petit Campus is an awesome venue, so be sure to come out tonight. Tickets are only $15, and you can buy them here. See you tonight!
