Lil' Wayne: Free for Another Day

Posted 02 Mar 2010 in Music

One of the biggest stories in the music world recently is the upcoming incarceration of Lil’ Wayne. Weezy was brought up on gun charges following a 2007 incident at Manhattan’s Beacon Theater, and could have faced up to 15 years of jail time had he been convicted of the original charges (New York does not fuck around with its gun laws). Luckily for all his fans, Wayne pleaded guilty to the charges and now faces only 1 year in jail; he could be paroled even sooner.

A New York judge delayed his sentencing due to 8 root canals he needed to have fixed (too much Purple Drank will do that to you I guess) and rescheduled the hearing for today. However, Weezy will remain a free man for the rest of the evening due to a fire in the New York courthouse where the hearing was supposed to take place.

Young Money released the video for ‘Roger That’ featuring Lil’ Wayne, Tyga and Nicki Minaj today as well, so have a look to celebrate Lil’ Wayne’s final few hours of freedom.
