Igloofest: the Beginning

Posted 21 Jan 2010 in Festivals,Music

Igloofest is upon us once again boys and girls. It’s time to grab your parkas and get ready to party because you’re right in the middle of one of the best outdoor electro music festivals in North America. Thursday kicked the off festivities with Canada’s own Mini, followed by David Carretta and Jesse Rose (whose sample-heavy fidget-house set drove the eager crowd wild).  Friday brought the minimal house and house-tech sounds of Mono-poly, Robert Babicz, Adultnapper, and Philip Bader. Saturday’s lineup gave us LA Riots, Noisia and Renaissance Man. All 3 nights were well worth the trek to Old Port, but Saturday night stole the weekend. All three DJs threw down, but I haven’t been able to get “Spraycan” out of my head for days now. Hailing all the way from Helsinki, Renaissance Man dropped an enormous set chock full of insanely catchy tech-house beats, heavy basslines and a new take on Euro club music .
