Free Weezy
Has it really been a year already? Lil Wayne is set to be released from jail today after serving a one year sentence on Rikers Island, NY for felony gun possession charges. Last November, Weezy plead guilty to having a loaded .40 cal semiautomatic gun on his tour bus, and following a sentencing hearing and a brief bow to his fans outside the courthouse, he began his one year stint in one of the tougher prisons in the country.
There is no doubt that his new found independence will be one of the most popular topics in the news today as his hordes of fans celebrate his release, and a surprisingly enough, one of his supporters is former President Clinton. He appeared on a local radio show this week, and here’s what he had to say about Lil Wayne:
Alright, so I’m sure he can’t rap along to ‘A Millie’ as well as the rest of us, but at least he had some nice things to say in Weezy’s defense. Anyway, here are some of my favorite Lil Wayne tracks that I’ll be bumping all day to celebrate. Enjoy
