Happy Labor Day
A very happy Labor Day to all. We’re in full chill mode here because today is our last day of rest and relaxation before classes get into full swing. Today we have some work-themed tunes to help you celebrate your Labor Day right, hope everyone out there is having a great three day weekend. Also, keep an eye out for an upcoming feature about TNM by our friend Nico at 4MTL. We had a really good time talking with him,…
Mixtape Fridays
Happy Friday everyone. Just got back a few hours ago from seeing Flying Lotus and Lunice at Just For Laughs, and I’m happy to say that this show exceeded my already high expectations. Lunice got the crowd pumped up and ready to go by playing a great selection of hip hop tracks and showing off his formidable dance moves. He was a great opener, but it was Fly Lo who really brought down the house. He played off of the…
Video Madness
What’s up guys? I’m going to keep this post nice and short, but I was poking around the TNM inbox today and found some sick new videos to share with y’all. Two are from Russ Chimes, one of my favorite producers in the business right now. Russ is releasing his new Midnight Club EP as a video trilogy, and today we have parts one and two for you to enjoy. Part three drops September 8th, so we’ll post that as…
Surfing The Void
It’s been a while since we last heard from Klaxons, but the UK alt-rockers recently dropped their sophomore album, Surfing the Void, on August 23rd. This LP is their follow up to 2007′s critically acclaimed Myths of the Near Future and the first new material released by the boys in 3 years. With so much time to craft their next record, my expectations for this one were pretty high. On Surfing the Void, Klaxons stay true to their unique style…
Back to the Grind
It’s all coming to an end. A new year of classes begins today, and although I’m obviously sorry to see summer go, it’s time to get back to work and back to the grind. A new year means a new set of resolutions about getting my life on track, here’s hoping I don’t disregard them in a month. Getting back to business after weeks of freedom is never fun, but on the bright side, we have some great music coming…
Lazy Sundays
What’s up everyone. Well we made it through Frosh, which in my opinion is a pretty impressive accomplishment. It was a pretty grueling few days, but there’s no better way to be welcomed back to our great city. Right now we’re in full recovery mode, which includes being as lazy as humanly possible, possibly with a trip to tam tams thrown in just for good measure. Got some good music for you today, including a new track from Freddie Gibbs…
Mixtape Fridays
Happy Friday everyone. Frosh is currently upon us, which means I’m writing this post on about two hours total sleep over the last three days. Hey, it’s a tough job, but somebody’s gotta do it. I’m going to keep this very short because honestly I can’t bring myself to write anything coherent at this point in the week. So enjoy the tunes, have a great weekend and if you’re also involved with Frosh, go hard tomorrow because we’re almost at…
Here. We. Go.
Yes, it’s that time of year again. The first years have arrived, classes begin in a week and there’s nothing left to focus on besides the beginning of McGill’s annual Freshman Orientation. Frosh is a time to socialize, familiarize yourself with the great city of Montreal and engage in some of our favorite “extracurricular activities.” Beer tents, pub crawls, boat cruises, scavenger hunts, club events, and beach trips await all of those lucky enough to be a part, so get…
We’re Back
We’re baaack. It took seven hours of driving through the rain and a two-and-a-half hour wait at the border, but we’ve finally made our triumphant return to our beloved Montreal. Summer was great, but it’s time to return to school and our old routine, which means we’ll be significantly busier in the coming few months. We hit the ground running right away as we eagerly anticipate what’s sure to be an insane night with Datsik tonight at Foufunes Electronique. We…
HARD Tour @ Electric Factory 08/18/2010
For more awesome photos of the show, be sure to check out our friend The Calcutta Blog. Philadelphia may not be a city known for it’s electro scene, but you never would have known based off of the turnout for the HARD Tour on Wednesday. The Electric Factory was packed with electro fans, grateful for the chance to finally get down to some dirty beats in the city of brotherly love. Destructo opened, followed by a long set by Sinden…
