As expected, the 2012 installment of Igloofest has been an amazing success thus far. A-Trak, Buraka Som Systema, French Fries, Max Cooper, Sebastian Leger and many more have already managed to melt faces in the sub-zero temperatures, and the festival isn’t even close to finished yet. So far we’ve already seen the first ever sell-out in Igloofest history, with over 10,000 rabid fans descending on the Quays on Saturday night, so be sure to get your tickets for this weekend…

If you’ve lived in this city for a decent amount of time, I think you will agree that it hasn’t felt much like a Montreal winter for the last few weeks. The roads were clear of brown slush, the sidewalks weren’t completely covered in ice, and you could even walk outside freely without the snot in your nose immediately freezing. Given all of that, it seems perfectly fitting that the snow has finally returned to Montreal just in time for…

Due to the huge growth of the festival over the last 5 years, the venue for 2012 has been moved to a larger area of the Old Port capable of accommodating even more people than last year’s record turn-out of almost 60,000 spectators. Nadastrom_800x800

Moombahton pioneers Nadastrom are back with a brand spankin new EP, “El Baile Diabluma,” released this week in association with Scion. This whole 5 track EP takes the listener deep into the darkest jungles of moombah with dirty tribal beats, ragga vocal samples and diabolical synth riffs. And with contributions from Tittsworth, Sabo and Munchi you know that Dave Nada and his partner in crime Matt Nordstrom mean business on this one. They’ve definitely established themselves at the forefront of…

A long running staple of my summer concert adventures, Camp Bisco marks its 10th anniversary this year, July 7th-9th in Mariaville, NY (just outside Albany), with one of their most diverse lineups yet. Since the very first Camp Bisco waaaaay back in 1999, the Philadelphia-based electronic infused jamband The Disco Biscuits have grown what was once a small party amongst just under 1000 of their closet friends, fans, and fellow musicians  to one of the North East’s most forward thinking,…

Well, I’ve finally made it home to the greatest city on earth to wait out the rest of my summer days until I can legally drink again. I would probably be more upset had there not been an awesome lineup of shows waiting for me when I got home. To kick things off, the tenth anniversary Siren Music Festival is going down this Saturday on Coney Island. Aside from the awesome lineup (which includes the likes of Matt and Kim,…
