Big Apple and Siren Fest
Well, I’ve finally made it home to the greatest city on earth to wait out the rest of my summer days until I can legally drink again. I would probably be more upset had there not been an awesome lineup of shows waiting for me when I got home. To kick things off, the tenth anniversary Siren Music Festival is going down this Saturday on Coney Island. Aside from the awesome lineup (which includes the likes of Matt and Kim, Ted Leo, Surfer Blood, Cymbals Eat Guitars, Holy Fuck, and more) it’s completely free and open to all ages. The fest kicks off at noon and will continue rockin’ the beach until 9. The greatest part of Siren is that if you ever need a break from dancing around in the summer heat, you can head down to the water for a cooling dip. And since each summer brings rumors of Astroland‘s closing, any excuse to catch one last ride on cyclone will do. Here are a few of our favorite tracks to get you excited for this weekend.

And now for something completely different… We’ve been getting a few (super excited) messages about the supposed Tron Legacy Soundtrack release date. According to Amazon, the album will drop November 23rd, about three weeks before the movie hits theaters. According to Pitchfork, though, neither the band nor Disney have actually set a release date. Sorry guys, we can’t wait either.
