And so, another week has come and gone. It’s with faded memories of Friday and Saturday’s parties that we begin to think about returning to the civilized world. This can be a scary thing, as this upcoming week holds some serious cold weather, snow, and midterms (#&*@!). So to help lower the stress levels and help the weekend chill survive as long as possible, I’ve put together a playlist of some of the best Radiohead remixes I’ve got. Radiohead doesn’t…

Yup, it’s already that time again, but we’re trying not to let school bum us out too much. Plus, sitting in the library jacked up on caffeine at 2 in the morning always gives me an excuse to find some new tunes. We hope these will give you a good opportunity to continue procrastinating (er, I mean, studying.) Good luck everyone. Flying Lotus was one of our featured artists this week, so it seems only fitting to post A Decade of Flying Lotus as…

All Hour's Old Blood replaced with more than O.N.E. Synth

Posted 10 Feb 2010 in Music

We first heard the name and music of Yeasayer as tracks from their debut album All Hour Cymbals ripped around the internet fueled by the growing blogosphere back in 2007. Well, the Brooklyn based trio are back with a new album and  a whole new sound. Aside from the more professional and clean sound of Odd Blood (officially released yesterday, but leaked way back in October), this new album will no doubt treat Yeasayer fans to a quick head-scratch or brow-furrow (maybe even…

Flying Lotus

Posted 09 Feb 2010 in Music

Electronic music is reaching new heights these days, in terms of both its popularity and the skill and creativity of its musicians. Flying Lotus, aka L.A-based producer Steven Ellison, is helping to blaze a new trail for electronic music by blending hip-hop inspired beats with a huge array of different tones, sounds and effects.  He has the unique ability to create a different musical experience with every track. FlyLo has a style all his own, seamlessly moving from ethereal synth…

Songs and Vid'o'day

Posted 08 Feb 2010 in Music

Midterms are fast approaching, leaving us searching for any and all means of procrastination… I guess that means it’s time for some videos and songs of the day! One of the best ways we have found to avoid any school work is to watch the new videos from Los Campesinos! and Jónsi Birgisson of Sigur Ros (for their songs “Romance is Boring” and “Go Do” respectively), and try to figure out what the hell is going on. So far, we’ve got…

Last Friday, we had an awesome opportunity to speak to Michael Lerner from The Antlers over the phone to give us some insight into their recording process, life on the road, what he thinks about Montreal, and what’s next for the band.
